September 2009
Sweet Jellybean was permitted to participate in Agility again after being pulled out by her opthomologist due to inflammation in her right eye. The inflammation was diagnosed as a detaching retina, for which Jellybean needed 2 surgeries (by a specialty surgeon in Virginia Beach).
The surgeries were both successful (retina was reattached and foreign body removed) and her eye was able to restore about half of her vision in the right eye. At her first trial back on Aug. 15+16th, with half of her vision in one eye, she Qualified 10 out of 10 runs, placing first in 8 of them, and earning all 4 of her level 3 titles! I think she’s happy to be back in the game!
